ZAZZU

Sailing employs wind acting on sheets to propel a craft on the surface of the water. TZMP conducts cruising coastal ocean sailing and inshore sailing on small and medium sailing craft.

Wind and currents are important factors to plan on for both offshore and inshore sailing. Predicting the availability, strength and direction of the wind is key to using its power along the desired course. Ocean currents, tides and river currents may deflect a sailing vessel from its desired course.

Nomenclature and concepts are first studied by reading and discussion in a class setting. Basic sailing skills are practiced in a small personal sailboat. As skills improve, the size of vessel may increase. Aquanautics skills and rescue swimming experience is a prerequisite for TZ sailors.

Safety and road situational awareness were key factors in this patrol. Teame members practiced good radio communication and defensive driving techniques.

OUTRIDERS: TZMP personnel operate from motorcycles as lead or screen convoy elements, light ground deployment elements for extended-distance reconnaissance, aerial drone retrieval, message delivery, or route clearance tasks.

Motorcycles present a low profile, high fuel economy, acceleration profile, and maneuverability, as well as possess the ability to access off-road and navigate high congestion areas. This an make motorcycles a good tool for mounted patrol missions despite a higher risk of fatality per mile travelled than other vehicles. Additional training and situational awareness is key to proper motorcycle operation.

TZMP ASYMMETRICAL DRONE OPERATIONS: TZMP operators utilize reflective transmissions to piggyback drone signals for consolidated control of multiple air and land drones.

By tasking the Kazi aerial drone via electro-optical object recognition to the ground ROV5 the drone pilot was able to utilize the rover's PWM radio signal operating at 2.4 GHZ to control both drone assets simultaneously.
